|Boston Sends Cavaliers Packing; Maybe LeBron too
|BOSTON (AP) -- If LeBron James does leave the Cleveland Cavaliers as a free agent this summer, he will do so without an NBA championship.
James had a triple-double in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals Thursday night, but the Boston Celtics advanced to the conference finals by downing Cleveland 94-85.
Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett each had double-doubles as the Celtics earned the right to face the Orlando Magic. Rondo finished with 21 points, 12 assists and five steals after recording a triple-double in the Celtics' Game-5 rout at Cleveland.
Garnett provided 22 points and 12 rebounds, and Rasheed Wallace contributed 13 points in 23 minutes off the bench.
James delivered 27 points, a career playoff-high 19 rebounds and 10 assists. He hit consecutive three-pointers to get the Cavaliers within 78-74 early in the fourth quarter. But the Celts followed those three's with a 10-oh run that put them ahead by 14 with 5:53 left.
James also had nine of the Cavaliers' 22 turnovers and shot 8-for-21. Antawn Jamison missed eight of his 10 shots to finish with five points.
Boston's next game is Sunday in Orlando.
