| Nelson to Run Cross Country at CSC |
The Carl Sandburg College men's cross country program is adding a track gem to next season's squad.
CSC coach Bruce Tracy says Allen Nelson of Kewanee has signed with the Chargers. Nelson, a senior at Kewanee High School, was a cross country sectional qualifier in 2009. He was also on the Peoria Journal Star honor roll for the 800-meter run and on the Quad City Times "Leaderboard" for the 800-meter this past season.
"I am excited to have the chance to use Allen's great track speed and transfer it to college-level cross country," Tracy said. "He is an addition to the team which adds to the close pack of runners for good scoring."
