|High School Baseball - Regionals
#1 seed North Fulton advanced to the regional championship game by beating Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon 15-5. The Wildcats will play South Fulton, a 7-5 winner against West Prairie, for the regional crown on Saturday.
#1 seed ROWVA scored 10 first inning runs and cruised past West Central 22-5
#3 seed United defeated #2 seed Abingdon 6-5 and will play ROWVA in Saturday's regional championship game
#4Princeville pulled off a stunner, shutting out #1 seed Orion 4-0 for a spot in the regional championship game. The Princes will take on the winner of Thursday's game between Galva-Williamsfield and Annawan-Wethersfield.

#4 seed Macomb took out top seeded Sherrard 5-1. The Bombers play the winner of Thursday's semifinal game between #3 seed Monmouth-Roseville and #2 Rockridge in the regional championship game on Saturday.
Top seed Brimfield-Elmwood beat Peoria Manual 13-1. The Indians meet the winner of Thursday's other semifinal game between #2 seed Canton and #3 Midwest Central in Saturday's regional championship game.
High School Softball - Regionals
United's Katie Bertelsen threw a no-hitter, striking out 13, to help lead the top seeded Red Storm to a 12-0 victory against West Prairie.
#2 seed Abingdon beat #6 Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon 12-0 behind Beep Jones' two hitter. Jones struck out eight and added three hits, including a triple and an RBI, at the plate for the Commandos who will face United in Saturday's regional championship game. The game has been moved to Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg and begins at 11:00 a-m.
ROWVA, the #3 seed, advanced to the regional championship game by defeating #2 seed Ridgewood 8-2. Ridgewood had beaten ROWVA during the regular season. Grace Cleair gave up one earned run and struck out six to pick up the win in the circle. Megan Foglesong hit a two-run homer, Courtney Sage had two hits and two RBIs and Britta Johnson had two hits for the Tigers. Ella Teel had three hits for the Spartans. ROWVA plays #1 seed Orion in Saturday's regional title game.
Top seed Lewistown outslugged Hartsburg-Emden 14-11 to move on to the regional championship game. The Indians play the winner of Thursday's semifinal contest between South Fulton and Havana.
#1 seed Sherrard knocked out Mercer County 6-2 to play the winner of Thursday's semifinal match-up featuring #3 Rock Island Alleman and #2 Rockridge

High School Girls Soccer - Class 2A Galesburg Regional
Galesburg is in the regional championship for the second straight season. The #2 seed Silver Streaks got off to a strong start by scoring three goals in the first half and went on to beat #3 seed Limestone 5-1. Galesburg (7-8-1), which has won three of its last four matches, plays top seeded Dunlap (8-12-2) in Saturday's regional final at 4 p-m. The winner earns a spot in the Rock Island Sectional next Wednesday at 4 p-m against the winner of the Peoria Notre Dame Regional.
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Two-time NL All-Star shortstop Hanley Ramirez returned to the Marlins' lineup with three hits and in Florida's 5-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. Ramirez was yanked from Monday's game for loafing and benched Tuesday after criticizing manager Fredi Gonzalez and teammates, but apologized individually to the Marlins before the game.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Chicago Cubs have won four in a row. Tom Gorzelanny threw just under seven shutout innings in the 4-1 victory at Philadelphia Wednesday night. His left after a line drive in the seventh inning hit his left ring finger. The X-rays were negative.
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago White Sox have started a five-game homestand with a 3-2 loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Chicago's John Danks allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits. He struck out eight and walked two.
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Los Angeles Lakers are halfway toward their goal of returning to the NBA Finals for the third straight year. The defending NBA champion Lakers dispatched Phoenix 124-112 for a 2-0 series lead last night with Pau Gasol leading the scoring parade with 29 and Kobe Bryant having a great all-around floor game with 21 points, 13 assists and five rebounds.
