| Gibbs Tries to Quickly Quell Busch-Hamlin Tension |
CONCORD, N.C. (AP) -- All-Star week at Charlotte Motor Speedway began with talk of whether red-hot drivers Kyle Busch or Denny Hamlin could finally end Jimmie Johnson's four-year Sprint Cup dominance.
By late Saturday night the focus had shifted to whether the Joe Gibbs Racing teammates were about to roll on the floor and trade punches.
Kurt Busch's victory was overshadowed by a teammate spat. It included Kyle Busch storming into Hamlin's hauler, a video session to review the incident that caused Busch to hit the wall, and Gibbs playing mediator.
While Busch sneaked out a side door and didn't speak to reporters, Hamlin and Gibbs insist the incident was resolved and won't derail each driver's successful seasons. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
