CLEVELAND (AP) -- The Chicago White Sox snapped a five-game losing streak against Cleveland by beating the hapless Indians 7-2 in Ohio. Chicago left-hander John Danks allowed two runs and six hits in five innings to stop a personal three-game slide. Mark Teahen drove in three runs. The teams play again Tuesday night at 6:05.

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Chicago White Sox infielder Omar Vizquel has matched his boyhood idol in at least one statistic. Vizquel has tied Hall of Famer and fellow Venezuelan Luis Aparicio for the second-most hits by a shortstop. Vizquel got career hit Number 2,674 Monday night.

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Kyle Lohse is going on the shelf for now. An MRI revealed inflammation in his right forearm but no structural damage. There's no timetable for his return. His next scheduled start would be Friday.

Next Up for the Cardinals

The Redbirds begin a series in San Diego Tuesday night in a battle of two first-place teams. St. Louis is tied with the Cincinnati Reds atop the National League Central Division. The Padres have a one-game lead on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. Adam Wainwright goes for his seventh win of the season for the Redbirds. Five-game winner John Garland gets the start for San Diego. Pregame coverage begins at 8:22 on WGIL AM 1400.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Philadelphia Flyers, who haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1975, are going to the Stanley Cup finals where they will play the Chicago Blackhawks, who haven't hoisted the cup since 1961. The Flyers eliminated the Montreal Canadiens in five games to win the Eastern Conference finals with a 4-2 win Monday night.

CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith says taking a puck in the face was no party but that it could've been worse if he'd been hit in the jawbone. He was hit in the mouth Sunday during a win over San Jose and ended up losing seven teeth as Chicago clinched a trip to the Stanley Cup finals.

National Basketball Association

BOSTON (AP) -- In the first overtime game of the NBA playoffs, the Orlando Magic kept their season alive by outlasting Boston 96-92 to cut the Celtics' lead to 3-1 in the Eastern Conference finals. Dwight Howard's 32 points and 16 rebounds were a big reason the series is now moving back to Orlando for Game 5 Wednesday night.

PHOENIX (AP) -- Don't expect a broken nose to keep Phoenix point guard Steve Nash out of the lineup when the Suns try to even the Western Conference final at two games apiece with the L.A. Lakers Tuesday night. Nash has a small nasal fracture suffered late in their 118-109 victory over the Lakers on Sunday, but says he's played with similar injuries in the past.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A person with knowledge of the deal says Boston Celtics assistant Tom Thibodeau is the leading candidate to fill the New Orleans Hornets' coaching vacancy and the team could offer him the job this week.
