High School Softball - Postseason
>Class 1A
@ Knoxville Sectional:
UPDATED 2:15 p.m. 5/26/10 **United's game against Orion scheduled at 7:00 Wednesday night is postponed until Thursday night at the same time**
Illini Bluffs plays Stark County in the first sectional semifinal game at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. That's followed by the second semifinal game at 7:00 between United and Orion. The semifinal winners meet in Saturday's sectional final at 11:00.
@ Virginia Sectional:
Lewistown plays in Thursday's semifinal game at 4:30 against Payson Seymour. The winner will play either Griggsville-Perry or A-C Central/Virginia, who play in Wednesday's first semifinal, Saturday for the sectional title at 11:00.

@ Farmington Sectional:
Sherrard plays Camp Point Central/Southeastern in Wednesday's first sectional semifinal game at 4:30. The second semifinal game Thursday afternoon at 4:30 pits Canton against Brimfield-Elmwood. The semifinal winners play for the sectional championship Saturday at 11:00.

@ Galesburg Regional:
Wednesday's semifinal match-up has #2 seed Limestone playing #3 seed Dunlap at 4:30. The winner advances to Saturday's championship game to play #4 seed Peoria Richwoods. The Knights ended Galesburg's season Tuesday with a 4-2, 13-inning victory.

@ Bloomington Sectional (Illinois Wesleyan University):
The first semifinal game is Wednesday night as North Fulton, a state semifinalist last season with three straight regional titles, takes on Midland at 6 p-m. The second sectional semifinal game is Thursday night at 6:00 between Annawan-Wethersfield and Downs Tri-Valley. The semifinal winners advance to the championship game Saturday at 11:00.
@ Jacksonville Sectional:
ROWVA plays the first sectional semifinal game Wednesday against Argenta-Oreana at 5:00. The second semifinal game follows Thursday at 5:00 between Hartsburg-Emden and Jacksonville Routt. The winners play in the championship game Saturday at 11:00.

@ Chillicothe Sectional:
Brimfield-Elmwood and Rockridge play in the first semifinal game Wednesday night at 7:00. The second semifinal game features the host school, Illinois Valley Central, squaring off against Peru St. Bede Thursday night at 7:00. The winners of the semifinal game play for the sectional title Saturday at 11:00.

@ Limestone Regional:
Semifinal play begins Wednesday afternoon when #1 seed Limestone plays #4 Peoria Woodruff. The Warriors advanced by knocking out #5 seed Peoria High 2-1 in the play-in game earlier this week.
The other semifinal game is Thursday afternoon at 4:30 when red-hot Galesburg, the #3 seed that's riding a seven-game winning streak, plays #2 seed East Peoria. The Silver Streaks are familiar with the Raiders and no doubt look forward to this high-stakes rematch. The teams met on March 31st and East Peoria made off with a 12-10 victory. Galesburg committed seven errors in the game that dropped its record to 2-4 at the time. Dalton Davis led the offensive charge with a pair of home runs. Galesburg has won 20 of 29 games since the meeting at East Peoria.
The Silver Streaks will advance to the regional championship game Saturday at 11:00 with a win.
The Limestone Regional champion advances to the East Peoria Sectional to play the winner of the Washington Regional next Wednesday at 4:00. The regional winners from LaSalle-Peru and Morris square off in the second sectional semifinal game next Wednesday at 6:30 p-m for a spot in the championship game June 5th at Noon. |
