High School Softball - Postseason

@ Knoxville Sectional:
Both semifinal games were postponed by rain on Wednesday. Illini Bluffs plays Stark County in the first sectional semifinal game at 4:30 Thursday afternoon. That's followed by the second semifinal game at 7:00 between United and Orion. The semifinal winners meet in Saturday's sectional final at 11:00.
@ Virginia Sectional:
Lewistown plays in Thursday night's semifinal game at 6:00 against Payson Seymour. The winner will play either Griggsville-Perry or A-C Central/Virginia, who play in Thursday's first semifinal at 4:30, Saturday in the sectional championship game at 11:00.

@ Farmington Sectional:
Sherrard whipped Camp Point Central/Southeastern 13-1 in Wednesday's first sectional semifinal game at 4:30. The second semifinal game Thursday afternoon at 4:30 pits Canton against Brimfield-Elmwood. The semifinal winners play for the sectional championship Saturday at 11:00.

@ Galesburg Regional:
#3 seed Dunlap defeated #2 seed Limestone 7-5 in Wednesday's semifinal game. The Eagles advance to Saturday's championship game to play #4 seed Peoria Richwoods.

@ Bloomington Sectional (Illinois Wesleyan University):
North Fulton lost 13-2 to Midland in Wednesday's semifinal game. The second sectional semifinal game is Thursday night at 6:00 between Annawan-Wethersfield and Downs Tri-Valley. The semifinal winners advance to the championship game Saturday at 11:00.
@ Jacksonville Sectional:
Rained washed out Wednesday's semifinal game between ROWVA and Argenta-Oreana. They'll try again Thursday at 5:00. The winner meets Hartsburg-Emden or Jacksonville Routt in the championship game Saturday at 11:00.

@ Chillicothe Sectional:
Brimfield-Elmwood defeated Rockridge 8-4 play in the first semifinal game Wednesday night. The second semifinal game features the host school, Illinois Valley Central, squaring off against Peru St. Bede Thursday night at 7:00. The winners of the semifinal game play for the sectional title Saturday at 11:00.

@ Limestone Regional:
Red-hot Galesburg, the #3 seed riding a seven-game winning streak, plays #2 seed East Peoria in the semifinals.
The Silver Streaks are familiar with the Raiders and no doubt look forward to this high-stakes rematch. The teams met on March 31st and East Peoria made off with a 12-10 victory. Galesburg committed seven errors in that game, dropping the Streaks' record to 2-4 at the time. Dalton Davis led the offensive charge with a pair of home runs. Galesburg has won 20 of 29 games since the meeting at East Peoria.
Galesburg will advance to the regional championship game Saturday at 11:00 with a win against East Peoria. The game is at 7:00 Thursday night after the semifinal game scheduled on Wednesday between #1 seed Limestone and #4 Woodruff was rained out. Those teams will play first Thursday at 4:30, followed by the Galesburg/East Peoria game under the lights.
The Limestone Regional champion advances to the East Peoria Sectional to play the winner of the Washington Regional next Wednesday at 4:00. |
