| Bond Shared at Stanley Cup |
CHICAGO (AP) -- Three years ago, the bounce of a pingpong ball gave the Chicago Blackhawks a chance to shape their future.
With just little more than an 8 percent chance of winning the 2007 draft lottery, the Blackhawks were able to leapfrog the team with the worst record -- the Philadelphia Flyers -- and win the first pick.
They chose Patrick Kane, who went to Chicago instead of Philly and became the rookie of the year. The Flyers landed James van Riemsdyk with the second pick.
Now both players are in the Stanley Cup finals, facing each other. Game 1 is Saturday night in Chicago. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
