| Lake Park Makes Most of Small Roster for 3A Track Title |
CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) -- Lake Park High School, of Roselle, had only seven athletes on its roster at the Illinois Class 3A track and field championship. But it used powerful individual performances from three of them Saturday to win the 3A boys title.
Hillcrest, from Country Club Hills, won its second straight title in Class 2A, while downstate Herrin posted a dominating victory in Class 1A.
Lake Park won with 50 points. Elmhurst's York finished second in 3A with 40 points, while Naperville's Neuqua Valley took third, with 36 points.
