| Monmouth College's Lumzy Earns Conference Honor |
Monmouth College thrower Peyton Lumzy had one of his best weekends at Saturday's Fighting Scots Invitational and was rewarded with the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week award for men's field events.
Lumzy, an environmental science major from Dixon, logged personal-bests in two of his three events and had a first-time provisional qualifying standard in the shot put.
The junior's conference-best shot put effort of 51'0-3/4" placed him second at the Invitational. He also turned in a career-best in the hammer throw where he launched the hammer 164'6" to place third. The mark is second in the MWC. Lumzy also took third in the discus with a throw of 147'7". |
