| CSC Men's Golf Team Holds Off Sauk Valley; Holds On to Arrowhead Lead |
POSTED 1:44 p-m 5/6/10 Carl Sandburg College's men's golf team overcame difficult conditions and playing on a rival's home course to remain on top in the Arrowhead Conference race.
The Chargers shot well in the gusting wind Wednesday at Byron Hills, where Black Hawk College holds its home matches.
CSC fought through gusting wind and won the match with a score of 305, three shots ahead of Sauk Valley. The victory by CSC pushes the team's lead to three points in the conference standings with one match to go.
Freshman Luke Kane became the third Charger to lead the way this season by shooting a 74. Kyle McEwen fired a 76, Andrew Ledford a 77, Chris Neal a 78 and Jordan Lieber an 81.
Carl Sandburg College concludes conference play on Friday as Sauk Valley hosts the season's fifth and final match.
