Galesburg won at home 12-2 against United Township. Logan Scott earned the win on the mound for GHS (15-11) and Zach McCrery led the offense with three hits.
ROWVA completed a perfect 16-0 season in the Lincoln Trail Conference with a 10-0 victory against Stark County
United beat Princeville 3-2
Galva-Williamsfield won 16-11 at West Central
Ridgewood lost a non-conference game 12-4 at Prophetstown
Monmouth-Roseville was shut out by Orion 11-0 in Olympic Conference play. The Chargers held the Titans to five hits in the game.
High School Softball
Galesburg defeated Peoria Notre Dame 9-2. Jessica Davison earned the win in the circle for GHS (9-14). She allowed three hits and struck out 12. Sydney Edwards contributed four hits and drove in two runs while Megan Young had four RBIs. Galesburg won the junior varsity game 14-1
ROWVA won at Stark County 7-5. Megan Foglesong earned the win in the circle, allowing three earned runs and striking out six. Laura McQueen drove in two runs for the Tigers with a double to spark a four-run fourth inning. Megan Steck also hit a two-run double in the sixth inning and Sarah DeSchepper added two hits and an RBI for ROWVA.
United suffered its second straight 1-0 loss in two days. Princeville scored a run in the sixth inning via a home run and beat the Red Storm 1-0 on the day the school dedicated the team's new field and recognized United's senior players. Katie Bertlesen suffered a rare loss. She gave up just two hits and struck out 16. Sommer Foster, Ashlynn Winkler and Bertelsen accounted for United's three hits.
Lewistown downed B-PC/A 8-1
West Central freshman Alexis Ensminger no-hit Galva 10-0 in five innings. Ensminger struck out five. The Heat scored eight runs in the fifth inning to take control.
High School Girls Soccer
Galesburg won its regular season finale at Macomb 6-0. The Streaks' goals were scored by six different people: Emma Junk, Ashley Buelt, Emily Nelson, Allie Blake, Sarah Katchen and Sarah Nelson. Katchen had two saves in goal as Galesburg dominated the match, getting off 21 shots. The Streaks improve to 6-8-1 going into regional play May 19th at home as the #2 seed against Limestone. Galesburg won the junior varsity match 2-0.
High School Boys Tennis
Galesburg dropped its match against Peoria Notre Dame 8-1. The Silver Streaks' Calvin Shipplett won at #4 singles. Galesburg lost three close matches in third set tiebreakers against the Irish. Coach Julia Kuehn said the match was closer than the final score indicated.
Carl Sandburg College split a doubleheader with Rock Valley. The Chargers won the first game 10-9 as Galesburg High School graduate Caleb Weaver homered and drove in two runs. Rock Valley came back to win the finale 4-3. Weaver added two more RBIs in the game for CSC.
