| Monmouth College Eliminated from Midwest Conference Softball Tournament |
Monmouth College's run in the Midwest Conference tournament came to an end Sunday in Ripon, WI.
The Fighting Scots lost their opening game 5-0 on Saturday against top seeded St. Norbert then beat Ripon College 4-2 in a must-win game.
Monmouth returned for a semifinal match-up Sunday against Lake Forest College and lost 10-0 to end the season with a 14-22 record. The Scots made their second straight appearance in the tournament and improved on last season's 0-2 record.
St. Norbert beat Lake Forest 3-2 in the championship game to claim back-to-back conference titles against the last team that accomplished the feat. |
