POSTED 1:30 p-m 5/10/10 The Galesburg High School softball and baseball teams know where they're going and who they'll play in the postseason.
The Streaks softball team (9-17 record) is the #1 seed in their own regional. GHS plays the opening game May 25th at 4:30 against #4 seed Peoria Richwoods.
The other teams in the Galesburg Regional are #2 Limestone and #3 Dunlap. Those two will play May 26th at 4:30 for a spot in the regional championship game May 29th against the winner of the Galesburg/Richwoods game.
The Galesburg Regional feeds into the Streator Sectional (begins June 2) along with the Bloomington, Peoria Notre Dame and the Pontiac regionals.
The Galesburg High School baseball team (15-11 record) is the #3 seed in the Bartonville Limestone Regional.
The Silver Streaks begin postseason play May 27th at 4:30 p-m against #2 seed East Peoria. The regional begins May 24th with #5 seed Peoria High School going up against #4 Peoria Woodruff. The winner of that game advances to take on top seed Limestone May 26th at 4:30. Galesburg would move on to the regional title game Saturday at 11:00 a-m with a win against the Raiders.
The other regionals that feed into the East Peoria Sectional (begins June 2) are LaSalle, Washington and Morris. |
