Midwest Conference Welcomes Back a former member
The Prairie Fire varsity athletic teams will soon have a new Midwest Conference opponent, although that opponent is no stranger to the league.
The Midwest Conference announced Thursday that charter member Cornell College will return to the league in the 2012-2013 academic year. The Rams have been a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) for the past 14 years.
Cornell and Coe College both left the Midwest Conference for the IIAC after the 1996-1997 academic year. Cornell and Knox have continued to play in various sports after the Rams left the Midwest Conference.
The addition of Cornell College will make the Midwest Conference an 11-team league. |
