Baseball:
Galesburg defeated East Peoria on Saturday by one run, 16-15 in the 3rd place game. Cody Kukuk hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 7th to win the game. In the 5th place game, Springfield Southeast defeated Aurora East 6-1.
Harlem defeats Lewistown 6-4. Erin Rankin's two run homer in the top of the 9th inning was the difference in the ball game.
Softball:
Galesburg was defeated by Sterling 13-1 in their first game on Saturday. In their second game, they lost to Metamora 9-3. The next game will be Tuesday, May 24th at Canton at 4:30 pm.
Tennis:
Galesburg Boys Tennis team came in 4th place as a team in the IHSA Sectionals Saturday in Moline. Brandon Meeker won the IHSA Sectionals with a season record of 27-3. He will compete in the 2011 IHSA State Finals at Hersey High School in Arlington Heights starting this Thursday the 27th. Other GHS Sectional players include: Evan Melhus, Tom Hearlein, Nathan Fitch, Ben Whittle and Chris Willis. |
