Cubs Activate RHP Wells, Option RHP Coleman
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Cubs activated right-hander Randy Wells from the 15-day disabled list and sent him to the mound to start against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

They optioned right-hander Casey Coleman to Triple-A Iowa to make room on their roster Saturday.

Wells hasn't pitched since his only start of the season on April 4, when he strained his right forearm against Arizona. He gave up one run and six hits in six innings that day, a 4-1 Cubs victory. He made two minor league rehab starts.

Coleman is 2-4 with a 7.25 ERA in nine appearances, including eight starts, for the Cubs this season.

The Cubs still have two starters on the disabled list, Matt Garza (sore elbow) and Andrew Cashner (rotator cuff strain).
