Kuchar Comes Up Clutch at Sawgrass
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- The only complaint about Matt Kuchar was not winning enough. He picked up a big one Sunday in The Players Championship.

Kuchar avoided the big mistakes that slowed so many other contenders, starting with Kevin Na, and kept out of the water on the TPC Sawgrass at the end. He closed with a 2-under 70 for a two-shot victory.

It was the fourth career win for Kuchar, and his first since the 2010 Barclays when Martin Laird three-putted the last hole and lost in a playoff.

Laird made the strongest run until a bogey on the 18th for a 67 and a four-way tie for second. Rickie Fowler missed an 8-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole and shot 70. Ben Curtis and Zach Johnson each had 68.
