Cubs' Soto Has Torn Meniscus
CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Cubs catcher Geovany Soto has a torn meniscus in his left knee and will be re-evaluated to see if he needs to go on the disabled list.

Soto is off to a slow start, batting .161 with three homers and six RBIs this season. The 29-year-old catcher hit .228 with 17 homers and 54 RBIs for Chicago last season.

Wellington Castillo started for Soto on Thursday and will now be the No. 1 catcher. Manager Dale Sveum said second baseman Darwin Barney would be the team's emergency backup catcher for Friday's game against the White Sox.
