HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

Galesburg's girls softball team lost twice to Western Big 6 Conference foe Alleman Saturday, 10-0 and 14-1. Kaylee Mescher got pegged for 13 hits in game one making her the losing pitcher, while Johanna Smith was the losing pitcher in game 2. Most of Alleman's scoring attack was 7 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning in game 1, while they continued with 7 more runs in the 1st inning of game two.

Galesburg's J/V also lost to Alleman Saturday, 10-0 and 15-5.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

The Galesburg Silver Streaks are the Western Big 6 Conference Champions, sweeping Rock Island Alleman Saturday 6-2 and 8-6. The Streaks finished the regular season 22-6 overall, and 8-2 in the Western Big 6 Conference.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Monmouth College 8, Lake Forest College 4 (Midwest Conference Tournament)

At the NJCAA Region IV Softball Finals this weekend, Carl Sandburg College lost to #15 Black Hawk 1-0 Friday, defeated #14 Sauk Valley 2-0 Friday, defeated Illinois Valley College Saturday 10-4 in 8 innings, then lost to Black Hawk 2-0 in the Championship Game Saturday.

COLLEGE GOLF

Monmouth College tied for second at the Midwest Conference Golf Tournament Saturday with St. Norbert. Knox College placed fourth. Carroll University was the conference champion and goes on to the NCAA Championships.
