|KHS Wrestling Program Approved
|Knoxville High School is adding another varsity sport to its offerings for students.
The District 202 School Board Wednesday night approved the formation of a wrestling program.
Athletic Director/Assistant Principal Chad Bahnks estimated a $10,000 start-up cost for the program, which is currently offered at the junior high level but not at the high school. Bahnks says 15 to 20 high school students have indicated an interest in wrestling.
The varsity program will have a paid head coach who will get help from volunteer assistants.
