Cubs Announcer Santo Skipping Seattle Series
CHICAGO (AP) -- Chicago Cubs radio announcer Ron Santo says he's going to cut back on travel and will miss the team's three-game trip to Seattle.

The 70-year old Santo has diabetes. He was hospitalized recently in Pittsburgh after apparently being affected by heat and humidity. On June 10, Santo felt ill and went home instead of calling the Cubs series finale in Milwaukee.

Santo says he'll be back for the Cubs-White Sox series next weekend but may miss more trips this season. He says next year he may limit his trips to the Midwest. Dave Otto is to call this week's Seattle games.

Santo played for the Cubs from 1960-73 before finishing his career with the White Sox in 1974. He became a Cubs broadcaster in 1990.
