| United Players Dominate Lincoln Trail First Team All-Conference Squad |
POSTED 10:50 a-m 6/3/10 Six members of the state-bound United softball team are being recognized by the conference they play in.
The First Team and Honorable Mention Lincoln Trail Conference selections have been announced. The six from United, all of them First Team all-conference, are Katie Bertelsen, Sommer Foster, Gina Long, Kaitlyn Winkler, Rachel Kenney and Katie Kaywood.
The Red Storm is preparing to face Cobden Friday in the Class 1A state softball semifinals in East Peoria. The Appleknockers have beaten United the past two years in the championship game. The two teams square off at 9 a-m.
Other First Team all-conference players in the Lincoln Trail include Grace Cleair of ROWVA; Ashley Kruger, Ella Teel and Amanda Kruger of Ridgewood; and Erika Edmonds of Galva.
