POSTED 1:02 p-m 6/3/10 Carl Sandburg College men's and women's head soccer coach Jim Carothers has announced members of his 2010 recruiting class. Men's Team
Morgan Crawford - Sherrard High School Position: Defense "Morgan, as a defender, is tenacious on the ball," Carothers said. "He clears the ball well from the back field." Drew West - Orion High School Position: Forward Stats from senior season: 13 goals; eight assists "Drew is an excellent player," Carothers said. "He is willing to shoot, score and give the ball up for the team to score. He is a great team player with excellent skills." Women's Team
Rachell Engnell - Orion High School Position: Goaltender Stats from senior season: 210 saves; six shutouts; 27 goals allowed "Rachell is an attentive goalie with lots of spirit and heart for the game," Carothers said. Christa Scott - Sherrard High School Position: Defense "Christa is a strong defender," Carothers said. "She takes care of the goalie by defending against any balls coming in and assuring no goals." Alexis Benware - Orion High School Position: Midfield "Alexis is very skilled in handling the ball," Carothers said. "She is quite a team player who is very athletic and has lots of stamina."
Jami Corlett - Sherrard High School Position: Midfield/Forward "Jamie is a player who steps up in any of the positions that she plays," Carothers said. "She is skilled in ball handling." CSC's men's and women's soccer teams play their first home games, which will be at Galesburg High School, against Kaskaskia College, on September 11, 2010. The men's team begins play at 1 p.m. and the women's squd at 3 p.m. |
