| Rough Night for Cardinals, Cubs & White Sox |
UNDATED (AP) -- Cincinnati regained sole possession of the Central Division lead as Scott Rolen homered twice and collected four RBIs in the Reds' 9-8 triumph over St. Louis. Joey Votto went 4-for-5 with a homer and three runs scored as the Reds moved a game ahead of the Cardinals.
Also in the National League Tuesday night, Neil Walker's first major-league homer was a go-ahead, two-run blast in the eighth inning to lift Pittsburgh past the Chicago Cubs, 3-2. The Pirates have won seven of eight from the Cubs this season and are 15-and-30 against everyone else.
Among the American League games, Ian Kinsler drove in three runs and Craig Gentry hit a two-run single to lead Texas to a 9-6 comeback win over the Chicago White Sox. Josh Hamilton and David Murphy each had three hits for the Rangers, who trailed 4-2 in the sixth before snapping a four-game losing streak.
