Cobden now owns three straight wins against United in the past three years at state.
The Appleknockers smacked three home runs, including two in a nine-run second inning - one of those a grand slam - and beat the Red Storm 10-2. United scored its first run of the game in the third inning when Michelle Ravel drove a teammate home.
Cobden (32-4) goes for its third straight state championship against Lebanon. United (30-6) will play Serena in the third place game Saturday morning at 9:30.

Serena 2 (20-13)
Lebanon set a tournament record for the most runs scored in a single game. The Greyhounds play Cobden for the state championship Saturday after the third place game between United and Serena. Lebanon owns a win against the Appleknockers, 4-1 on April 10th.

Goreville advances to the championship game to play the winner of the next semifinal game. Downs Tri-Valley returns for Saturday's third place game at Noon.
