Wainwright Tosses First Complete Game Shutout; Cardinals Hammer Brewers
ST. LOUIS (AP) _ Adam Wainwright threw a complete game and Colby Rasmus drilled a two-run homer to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to an 8-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Friday night.

Wainwright (8-3), in his 98th career start, gave up two hits in the first complete-game shutout of his career. He struck out eight, walked one, and retired the last 18 hitters he faced after a leadoff walk to Prince Fielder in the fourth inning.

Wainwright is 5-0 at home and has allowed just two earned runs in his last three starts covering 21 innings.

St. Louis won for the sixth time in eight games and broke a four-game home losing streak against the Brewers, who have won 13 of their last 17 at Busch Stadium.

Milwaukee lost for the fifth time in six games.
