| Barbs Cut Short Galesburg's State Bid |
Galesburg High School's deep postseason run came to an end, one game short of reaching the Class 3A state semifinals.
The Silver Streaks lost to DeKalb 8-4 Monday in the Rock Island Supersectional at Augustana College. Galesburg ends its best season in 21 years with a sectional title and a 26-14 record.
DeKalb (26-10) moves on to Friday's state semifinal game at Noon in Joliet. The Barbs will play Marian Woodstock, which beat LaGrange Park Nazareth Academy 8-6 to win the Naperville Supersectional. |
