| Galesburg Post 285 Baseball Team Meets East Moline in Home Opener |
The Galesburg American League Post 285 baseball team plays its home opener Wednesday.
Post 285, with four Carl Sandburg College players on the roster and several from the Galesburg High School baseball team that made a deep postseason run, hosts a doubleheader against East Moline.
Former Silver Streaks Alex Lozano, Caleb Weaver and Jake Milligan, along with Monmouth-Roseville grad Nick Leary - who's a freshman at Sandburg - bring experience to the Galesburg Post 285 squad. The team also features Zach McCrery, Logan Scott, Nate Olin, Tim Rossell, Derek Schwab, Dalton Davis, Chris Fields and Nick Milligan - all members of Galesburg High School's sectional champion baseball team, and a host of other players.
The first game of Wednesday's twinbill begins at 5 p-m at Sundberg Field.
The team hits the road Thursday for a single game against Moline (5 p-m), visits Canton on Friday (5:30 p-m) and returns home for a game against Galesburg Prep on Saturday (6 p-m) and a doubleheader against Ottawa Sunday afternoon (1 p-m game one). |
