Santo Returns to Cubs After Brief Illness
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Cubs announcer Ron Santo has returned to Chicago after being released from a Pittsburgh hospital, where he stayed overnight following the Cubs-Pirates game on Monday.

Santo, who has diabetes, sought treatment after apparently being affected by the heat and humidity during the day game. Temperatures were in the high 80s.

The 70-year old Santo played for the Cubs from 1960-73 before finishing his career with the White Sox in 1974. He hit a career-high 33 home runs in 1965 and finished with 342 in his career.

Santo became a Cubs broadcaster in 1990.
