Local Sports Round 6/7/11
The Galesburg Legion baseball team has the day off following Monday's 10-7 win over Farmington. Post 285 trailed 6-0 after two innings, but rallied with 7 runs in the third and went on to the the victory, improving their record to 4-2 on the young season. After a rare day off Tuesday, the Legion will be tested at Moline Wednesday at 5pm.

The Moline Maroons softball team has advanced to the final four in class 4A with Monday's supersectional win. The Western Big-6 champs topped Orland Park Sandburg 10-5, and will play Lisle Benet on Friday at 4:30 in East Peoria.

The Irish of Peoria Notre Dame, which won the Galesburg Sectional baseball tournament last week, got knocked out of the 3A state title chase Monday with an 8-3 loss to Maple Park Kaneland in the Rock Island Supersectional.
