Legion Baseball
The Galesburg American Legion Baseball team lost Friday night to Canton 10-5. Post 285 will take on Monmouth in a double-header at Sundberg Field starting at 5pm Saturday.
Girls Softball
The Galesburg 18-and-under softball team will host a tournament this weekend. Pool play is scheduled for Saturday, followed by the championship bracket games on Sunday. Galesburg won their opener Thursday, defeating the Central Illinois Lightning 9-4.
Hoops shootout
Monmouth College's Glennie Gymnasium will play host to the Azer Clinic boys basketball shootout this weekend. Organizer Mark Sandstrom says teams throughout Western and Central Illinois will play multiple games at the Huff Center as well as Monmouth High School beginning Saturday morning at 9:45, and continuing through Sunday. Teams involved from the immediate area include Knoxville, Abingdon, ROWVA, United, and Monmouth-Roseville.
Physicals
Sports physicals will take place this morning in Knoxville. Prospective Blue Bullet athletes will receive their physicals for the 2012-13 athletic season at the North Gym from 8 to 12. Organizers are asking for a $10 donation from those who can afford it. |
