Suburban Mayor Invites Cubs to Move to his Town
TINLEY PARK, Ill. (AP)--A suburban Chicago community that's in decidedly White Sox country is making a pitch to be the home of the Cubs.

The SouthtownStar reports that Tinley Park Mayor Ed Zabrocki sent a letter to Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts asking him to consider moving the team to the city southwest of Chicago if efforts to renovate Wrigley Field fall apart. Zabrocki is suggesting the site of a former mental health facility.

Zabrocki says he doesn't think the Cubs will leave Wrigley. But he figures if they do decide to move, he wants his offer out there.

The mayors of Cicero and Rosemont made similar offers, and an official in DuPage County has suggested the Cubs might want to look there.

The Cubs say they're flattered but are focused on Wrigley.
