Win #20 of the summer season for the Galesburg Legion baseball team came last night as Post 285 defeated Monmouth 10-2. Chans Sugden slugged two home runs and Peyton Isaacson added a round-tripper in support of winning pitcher Tyler Johnson. Galesburg improved its' record to 20-5 ahead of today's doubleheader at Geneseo, which gets underway at 5:30. Monmouth also returns to the field this evening, as Post 136 travels to Canton.


Knox College has announced that it will be the site of a special one-day basketball camp next month. The "Knox Men's Basketball Elite Camp" will be held July 29th from 10 to 4 at Memorial Gymnasium. The camp is being organized by Knox Men's coach Kevin Walden, and is designed for high school players whose goal is to compete at the collegiate level. The camp will provide a fast-paced preview into the lives of college basketball players both on and off the court. The workout will be run similar to a Prairie Fire men's practice. Sign-ups are limited, and the cost is $50, which includes lunch. A camp registration form can be downloaded on the Prairie Fire Athletics website.
