Confetti Raining Down, Blackhawks Parade Begins
CHICAGO (AP) -- The confetti is raining down on members of the Chicago Blackhawks as a parade honoring the Stanley Cup champions gets under way.

Escorted by police officers on motorcycles, buses carrying the team in their red jerseys headed down the parade route through downtown. Fans roared from the roadside.

One supporter held a sign that said, "Thank you, guys." Another said, "Best 17 seconds of my life," in reference to the pair of goals seconds apart in the last minutes of the game that gave the Hawks a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins.

At the end of the route, thousands were packed into Grant Park along Lake Michigan to greet the team.

Friday's celebrations mark the second time in three years that the team has brought home the Stanley Cup.
