UNDATED (AP) -- NBA commissioner David Stern has fined Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert $100,000 for his critical comments about LeBron James last week. Gilbert released a statement following James' decision to leave the Cavaliers and sign with Miami, calling the decision "narcissistic" and "cowardly behavior."
Speaking from Las Vegas, Stern said James was "entitled" to decide to leave the Cavaliers for Miami.
But the commissioner said he would have advised James to tell the Cavaliers ahead of time of the decision and he would have advised against making the announcement a made-for-TV event.
