| Cal Ripken Tourney Begins in Earnest Thursday |
9, 10, and 11-year old baseball teams have converged on Galesburg for this week's Cal Ripken State Tournament.
A home run hitting contest opened the event Wednesday night at Voyles Field.
The games begin Thursday afternoon, with the Galesburg American 9-year olds squaring off against Geneseo at 2:00. Contests continue into the weekend in the three age divisions, with the double-elimination format concluding Sunday with the championship games in each bracket. |
