| Galesburg Cal Ripken Teams Do Well on Tourney Day 1 |
Day one of the Cal Ripken 9, 10, and 11-year old state tournament at Voyles Field is in the books, and the Galesburg 9-year-old teams rolled to opening game wins.
The American team defeated Geneseo 11-1, while the National team overpowered Charleston 17-0. The Galesburg American's will play Geneseo Friday at 2pm
Galesburg went 1-and-1 in the 10 year old games, with the National team beating Geneseo 16-2, while the American's lost to Evergreen Park 10-7. Both Galesburg teams will play Friday at 6pm and 8pm.
At the 11-year-old level, Galesburg's Nationals lost to Geneseo 18-2. They play again at 6pm Friday. The American team will have its opener against Homewood Friday at 4pm. |
