| Complete Game Pitched Leads Twins Past White Sox |
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Carl Pavano picked up right where he left off before the All-Star break, pitching a complete game for the Minnesota Twins in a 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday.
Pavano (11-6) prompted a rousing ovation from the sellout crowd at Target Field when he returned to the mound for the ninth inning, and he complied with his fourth complete game this season. While the rest of the Minnesota starters struggled often in the first half, Pavano and his mustache helped keep the Twins afloat.
Carlos Quentin grounded out to end the game in an astonishing 1 hour, 52 minutes. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
