| CSC Signs Several Recruits |
A number of area athletes have signed on to bring their skills to Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg.
Men's basketball coach Ryan Twaddle announced Monday that Christian Baker of Bloomington and Alex Franklin of Sheffield will be joining the Chargers for the upcoming season. Baker played last season at Lakeland College in Wisconsin, and prior to that averaged 12 points a game for Normal West High School. Franklin comes to CSC from Bureau Valley High School, where he averaged 21 points per contest and was a member of the Three Rivers Conference All-Conference First Team.
The Cross Country team at CSC also got a boost, with the news that DeAndre McClendon of Monmouth will we on this year's roster. Coach Bruce Tracy said that McClendon will be another great 800-meter runner to add to their team speed. He dominated the event in the Olympic Conference while running for the Monmouth-Roseville High School track team, and is continuing to learn how to implement that speed into Cross Country. |
