Another Influx for CSC
An Orion High School Charger is about to become a Carl Sandburg College Charger.

CSC athletic director Mike Bailey announced Wednesday that Megan Blumenshein of Orion will play 3 sports for CSC in the upcoming school year. Blumenshin excelled at all of her athletic endeavors in high school, including basketball, where she was Orion's Most Valuable Player and an all-conference performer. She was also one of the Olympic Conference's top softball players, and excelled in volleyball, where she earned an All-State Honorable Mention selection.

Bailey said "she gives (their) programs an instant boost, and is a great fit for CSC."

Another area athlete, Martin McNamara of Galesburg, also is headed to Sandburg. McNamara ran both cross country and track for the Silver Streaks, and was the Most Valuable Player for the cross country team in his senior season.
