| Post 285 Ends Moline Tournament With Loss |
The Galesburg Post 285 Legion baseball team finished the weekend with a 4-1 record at the Moline Leo Brunner 4th of July Tournament.
Post 285 picked up wins over Palatine and Chillicothe on Friday by scores of 11-5 and 10-1. Chris Fields posted a win for Galesburg in the first game Saturday, a 7-1 victory over East Moline. Jake Milligan went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Post 285 blew out Elk Grove 24-8 in Saturday's second contest. Nick Milligan got the win as he was supported by a 25 hit attack and 14 runs in the 7th inning.
Galesburg faced the host Moline in on Sunday and fell 4-3. Post 285 had beaten Moline by a run last Wednesday.
The Galesburg Legion team is now 21-4 on the season with all 4 losses coming by 1 run. They host Geneseo Monday night at Sundberg Field with a 6:00 start. |
