| Legion Ends Regular Season With 30 Wins |
The last two home games of the regular season for the Galesburg American Legion Baseball team were winners. Post 285 got past East Moline in game 1 of a double-header Saturday 11-9, and in game two 7-6. A seven-run fourth inning made the difference in Game 1, helped by a Dalton Davis home run. Chris Fields was the winning pitcher, with Jesse Hines getting the save.
In game two, 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning helped cement the lead for Post 285, in what otherwise was a back-and-forth game. Colton Crane was the winner in that game, with Luke Ryan getting the save.
Post 285 ends the regular season with a record of 30-10, and will start the 15th District Tournament Tuesday afternoon versus Quincy. Galesburg plays host to the state American Legion Tournament starting July 12th. |
