USOC Eager to See London Games Begin
LONDON (AP) -- The London Games are here, and the head of the U.S. Olympic Committee says the nation's athletes are ready.

USOC CEO Scott Blackmun says he "can't wait for the games to start."

The first full day of competition is Saturday, and the Americans have won the overall medals race at the last four Summer Games. Blackmun says he's obviously hoping that streak continues, and he believes that the USOC has done all it can to make that happen.

Blackmun spoke Friday at the opening of the U.S. Family Home, a place provided by USOC sponsor P&G for athletes and their relatives to relax during the Olympics.
