Tomorrow is pro-am day, leading into the John Deere Classic golf tourney in the Quad Cities. Tournament director Claire Peterson is hoping for another good turnout for this year's event, and tells the WGIL Morning News that they are always looking to improve the experience for spectators.
Peterson said they added a large "family area" last year that included air conditioning and activities for kids, which they plan to have again for this year's event. Defending champion Zach Johnson and the rest of the field will tee off Thursday in the opening round.
A rare 2nd-straight day off should have the Galesburg Legion baseball team rested and ready for tomorrow's game with Pekin at Knox College. Galesburg enters the game with a mark of 29-10 this summer, with three games to play prior to next week's District Tournament in Geneseo.
The Cubs, having dusted off the White Sox 8-2 last night, prepare for the Angels at Wrigley tonight, while the Sox head to Detroit.
The Cardinals will put Adam Wainwright on the mound tonight, in the first of a 2-game homestand against the Houston Astros, pre-game @ 6:40 on WGIL
