| Blackhawks Sign Prospect |
CHICAGO (AP) -- Russian winger Igor Makarov has signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.
One day after making a major move at goalie by letting playoff star Antti Niemi go and signing Marty Turco, the Stanley Cup champions locked in one of their prospects.
A second-round draft pick by Chicago in 2006, the 22-year-old Makarov split last season with the Moscow Dynamo and St. Petersburg SKA of the Kontinental Hockey League. He had five goals and four assists in 51 games. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
