|CSC Adds Three More to Softball Team
|Carl Sandburg College softball head coach Todd Winkler has announced that Christie Kondzela, Antigo, Wis., Chelsea Day, Crawfordsville, Ind., and Jessica Strauch, Peru, Ill., have committed to play softball for the Chargers during the 2010-11 season.
Kondzela, a 2010 graduate of Antigo High School, played in 11 games for the Red Robins softball team and batted .556, with 20 hits and 12 RBIs.
"Christie is a multi-talented player who can play multiple positions, but her true forte will be the offensive production that she gives us," Winkler said.
Day graduated from Crawfordsville High School in May and brings a much needed arm to the Chargers pitching staff.
"Chelsea is going to be a go-to player for us," Winkler said. "She will be a pitcher that we can put in and get a ton of innings from."
Strauch, a 2010 LaSalle-Peru Township High School graduate, played softball, volleyball and basketball for the Cavaliers and was named to the North Central Illinois Conference's All-Conference and All-Academic teams for all three sports.
"I look forward to Jessica maturing into the player that she can be," Winkler said. "She will be a student-athlete that will represent Carl Sandburg College well."
