| Abingdon School Board Approves Football Assignments, Concession Stand Renovation |
The Abingdon School Board has approved a number of coaching changes to their district's football team. Members Wednesday night approved the reassignment of a number of the district's coaches, following the move in March to hire Ricky Quinn to replace retired longtime coach Dennis Larson. Among the coaching assignments:
HS Asst. Coach: Jerrad (Boo) Quinn
HS Volunteer Coach: Rick Quinn, Sr.
8th Grade Coach: Eric Burdette
7th Grade Coach: To Be Determined
Volunteer Coach: Doug Ruhl
Ricky Quinn was a longtime assistant to Larson, who's back as a volunteer assistant coach in Knoxville.
The board also formally approved a $50,000 project by the AHS Booster Club to renovate the football field's concession stands. Booster Club officials say they are working to get some of the work and materials donated. The work can't begin, however, until a building permit is obtained from the Knox County Regional Office of Education. |
