More scrimmages

"Meet the Streaks"---soccer style--is on the calender for this evening at the YMCA complex in Galesburg. It's the annual preview of the Galesburg High School boys soccer team, and will feature the Junior Varsity playing at 6 and the Varsity squad taking the field at 7:30.

Tomorrow night, the football scrimmage will be held at VanDyke Field. The Freshmen will play at 6, the Sophomores at 7, and the varsity at 8:15. Prior to the varsity game, the GHS cross country, girls swimming, boys golf, girls tennis, and Gadet squads will be introduced to the crowd. Admission will be a 6-pack of sports drink or bottled water.

Golf

The Williamsfield boys golf team got it's season started yesterday, as the Bombers took second place in a 3-way event at Kewanee. The host team won the event by 14 strokes, shooting a 167. Billtown was second at 181, with Trevor Stegall shooting a 42 and Tyler Doubet adding a 43 to lead the Bombers. Midland High School finished a distant third with a team total of 223.

Next up for the Galesburg golf teams is a pair of weekend matches, as the boys will compete at the Macomb Invitational on Saturday, while the Silver Streaks girls will play at the Rock Falls Invite.
