| Lombard 7th Grade Football Team Throttles Macomb |
The Lombard 7th grade football team had two players go over 200 yards rushing and another come close in a convincing season-opening win at Macomb.
The Zephyrs blew out the hosts 62-26.
Cody Sibley ran for 232 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead Lombard. He also had three 2-point conversions.
Keymon Irby had a huge game as well, rushing for 204 yards and three scores. Malek Austin added 191 yards rushing and a touchdown. He also had a 2-point conversion. Christian Powers had 39 yards rushing and three 2-point conversions.
Leading Lombard's defense was Gabe Hilman with 11 tackles, followed by Keymon Irby with 8 and Sibley with 5. Deantrai Mixon and Powers each had 4 tackles.
Irby also picked off a pass on defense and C.J. Darby recovered a fumble for the Zephyrs.
Lombard plays again Tuesday at home at 4:30 p-m against Rock Island Edison.
